Prune
What is finished, even if I am still feeding it?
To prune is not to punish the tree. It is to honour the difference between what is alive and what is only loud.
We tend to keep watering branches that broke years ago — old commitments, old loyalties, old versions of ourselves. The tree grows tired carrying them.
Pruning is an act of attention, not violence. You look. You touch. You decide what is still bearing fruit.
Reflection
- — What is still on my plate only because I once said yes and never said no again?
- — If I removed it, what would have room to grow?
