I should make them proud
Whose pride am I still trying to earn — and what has it cost me?
Many of our biggest life decisions were not made for our life. They were made for the imagined face of someone who needed to be proud.
Sometimes that face has been gone for years. The decision still stands.
There is a difference between honouring someone and obeying their imagined approval forever.
