Tight Jaw

What am I holding back that the jaw is keeping in?

A tight jaw is rarely about teeth. It is the muscle of the unsaid.

We learned, very early, that some things could not be spoken. The jaw remembered, even when the mind did not.

Softening the jaw is sometimes the first honest movement of the day.

Reflection

  • — What words have I been chewing instead of speaking?
  • — What would soften if I unclenched, even for one breath?
