Water

What is asking for my attention before it asks for my money?

Water is not heroic. It is steady. The tree does not grow because we noticed it once; it grows because we returned.

Most of what we starve is not exotic. It is a friendship we postpone, a draft we never reopen, a body we keep ignoring until it raises its voice.

Watering is a question of return, not effort.

Reflection

  • — What in my life is quietly thirsty?
  • — What is one place I would return to this week if no one was counting?
