Trust

Where does trust live in me — and where is it bruised?

Trust is not naïve. It is the muscle that decides whether to soften or to brace.

We are not careless because we are foolish — we are careful because we were hurt. The branch of trust grows slowly, on purpose.

To trust again is not to forget. It is to know the wound and choose, this time, to listen for difference.

Reflection

  • — Whom do I trust without needing them to prove it?
  • — Where am I bracing now, even though no one is hurting me today?
